Underdogs versus Book-smartes I was taking JPJ today in MSDC. ( I know is LATE okay but since I failed my first try-out and expired lesen L. I have to wait for 3 weeks. ) and I met someone from my past. Let me describe him in this way. He is one of my classmate during my first year in GBS, quite a bully back then. He is also short and tanned. Maybe one of the gangster of the school ( I am not quite sure ). Go ahead and pick a name. I will review my answer later. He was taking JPJ too ( kinda surprised. I thought they already went wild on the roads ). So, after he finished and both of us were waiting for our uncle, he sat beside me and told me this speech that changed my thoughts forever. He asked how was my SPM and I replied my result but I didn't ask his result because I don't want him to feel bad or anything. ( Is not that I look down on him, but is just... ). He then proceed to ask what I am going to do and stuff, and then, I turn the tables to him, you know what he said? He said he is going to Singapore to study while working. He is planning to study some course over Singapore ( computing, cooking and english ), he wanted to be a chef and he thinks that he must be at least able to communicate in english. Although computing wasn't part of the cooking part, he took up just for fun. He told me he has this cousin working in a famous hotel as a head chef and his cousin willing to help him by providing a job over there while he study for his course. He explained if he passed his cooking diploma, he can go for competition going overseas to compete ( it was part of his dream ). The surprising part wasn't over yet. He said that he is not some rich spoiled brats going for college. He stated he is not that bright, study is not the way out for him and hinted some of his friends ( i think ) going for college just for fun, wasting money on things they knew they can't finish it up. "Lets don't talk about hard-earned money from our parents, what about the time? We can't afford to waste time. We're not talking about few months, we're talking about years!!" He said. I am so shocked. He was the gangster, the one all teachers hated and labeled as the hopeless one. But he is even brighter than most of us. He knows whats going on and know how to survive by his own and HE HAS A DREAM!!! He planned all this to put one step forward to his bright future. He is NOT that gangster that do not know anything about life and live as a rubbish of the society. He IS the guy who walks out from the dark, heading somewhere brighter. He is much clever than us, who are getting so many A's yet a failure in life. No dreams, no motives, no passion, just breathing, just study for nothing because IS A MUST. We soon apart after I went home. I knew maybe I wasn't going to see him for the rest of life. But I do hope that he can make his dream into reality. Good luck dude, and goodbye. *He even told me to study because I can do it* His surname is CHIN Middle name is TECK you can figured out the rest. I passed my JPJ. 8:30 AM
